Bishopsgate Investment Management Ltd
To allow Robert Maxwell to gain control of the funds of his employees’ pension funds, he established an investment company, Bishopsgate Investment Management Ltd, which controlled the assets of the fund with no oversight by the Trustees of the pension funds.
Shares were transferred from the Investment Company, without consideration, to other private companies under the control of Robert Maxwell and two of his sons.
This then led to proceedings by the liquidator against Kevin Maxwell in an attempt to recover the assets transferred from the Investment company, after the death of Robert Maxwell.
