No More Cover-Up

Joint Committee 22 Jan 2015 – Chair   PR 22 Jan 15

The Chairman of ASIC, Mr Greg Medcraft, has claimed that Australia is a ‘Paradise’ for white-collar criminals – a statement he was forced to retract by the Finance Minister and former Acting Assistant Treasurer, Senator the Hon Mathias Cormann.

Australia’s Worst White-Collar Crime is hinges on whether a document that bears the signature of the well known white-collar criminal, Ken Jarrett, lawfully amended the terms of an occupational pension trust established on the 23 December 1913 in the State of South Australia.

The Chair of the Committee with over-sight over ASIC, the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Corporations and Financial Services, has been provided with all the evidence required to confirm that the purported Deed of Variation signed by Ken Jarrett is indeed fraudulent.

ASIC can no longer engage in a cover-up of this major fraud. The attempted cover-up was initiated 5 years ago by the previous Chairman of ASIC, Tony D’Aloisio, who had an undeclared Conflict of Interests that was reported in an exposé by Fairfax Media.

As Tom Petri so insightfully observed:

“It is not the original scandal that gets the most people into trouble. It is the attempted cover-up.”
